Experts: Two LSU football players could go in 1st round of 2019 NFL Draft

LSU didn’t have a player selected in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft. But early indications are that’s likely to change in 2019.

According to several draft projections, the Tigers have two players who might draw first-round attention in 2019.

Defensive back Greedy Williams is in ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper’s 2019 top 10 along with big-name players like Houston defensive tackle Ed Oliver and Ohio State defensive end Nick Bosa.

For three years, Will Clapp paved the way for NFL-caliber running backs.

Williams is a redshirt sophomore and returning All-Southeastern Conference selection.

Other outlets, such as CBS Sports and Sporting News, have Williams as first-round prospect as well.

Linebacker Devin White, who led the Southeastern Conference in tackles with 127 as a sophomore and was named to the All-SEC first team and All-America second team, is projected as a first-round pick, according to walterfootball.com.

Derrius Guice needed to wait one more day — and 26 more picks.

The Tigers had three players selected in the first round of the 2017 draft: Leonard Fournette, Jamal Adams and Tre’Davious White.
