Jets will open regular season on 'Monday Night Football'

The Jets will open the season in primetime.

Gang Green’s 2018 campaign will begin Sept. 10 in Detroit against the Lions on “Monday Night Football,” The Post has learned.

The Jets did not have any appearances on “Monday Night Football” last year and just one primetime game. Their last appearance on MNF did not go well, a 41-10 loss to the Colts on Dec. 5, 2016. ESPN has a doubleheader on MNF the opening weekend of the season.

This will be the debut of new Lions coach Matt Patricia, who is very familiar with the Jets from his time as Patriots defensive coordinator. The Lions went 9-7 last season.

The question for the Jets will be: Who is going to start at quarterback? The team brought back Josh McCown, who had a strong season for them in 2017, signed free agent Teddy Bridgewater and is expected to draft a quarterback next week with the No. 3-overall pick.
