Middle school student killed in crash involving school bus in Hall County




HALL COUNTY, Ga. – A Dawson County middle school student was killed in a crash involving a school bus Wednesday morning, Dawson County Superintendent Damon Dibbs confirmed.

The 13-year-old was inside a passenger car when it collided head on with a school bus at Thompson Bridge and Stowers roads near the county line. Two other people inside the car, including another Dawson County student, were taken to the hospital.

The Hall County school bus was carrying students from Mount Vernon Elementary School, Hall County Schools Public Information Officer Gordon Higgins said.

Higgins told Channel 2 Action News 19 students on the bus and the driver were taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for evaluation as a precaution.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
