OnePlus 6 expected to launch in three variants by April end, could be priced around Rs 34000

OnePlus will launch the OnePlus 6 in a few more weeks. Earlier reports suggested that OnePlus 6 could launch around May or August. But now, a new report from GizmoChina reveals that OnePlus 6 may instead launch a little early, most possibly by the end of April. The new report, alongside providing the tentative launch timeline also reveals the pricing details of the OnePlus 6. It reveals that the smartphone will come in three variants — the base model with 64GB storage, followed by 128GB and 256GB internal storage models. As for the pricing is concerned, the OnePlus 6 is said to launch at a starting price of $523, which translates to Rs 34,000 approx for the 64GB model.

Earlier reports had also revealed that OnePlus 6 will be slightly expensive than the OnePlus 5T. The new report confirms the same. The price rise is because the OnePlus 6 will come with improved hardware and software set up and will also have an enhanced display and sport much better cameras on from rear and front side compared to the OnePlus 5T. To recollect, OnePlus 5T was launched at the same price as the OnePlus 5 last year, which created a lot of buzz among the OnePlus 5 users. OnePlus 5T was launched at a starting price of Rs 32,999 for the 6GB model. The 8GB RAM with 128GB storage pitches at Rs 37,999. The scenario will not be the same for the OnePlus 6.

Another reason for price rise could be because of the iPhone X-like notch design that OnePlus will bring with the OnePlus 6. This is for the first time that the pricing details of the OnePlus 6 have been leaked. As for the pricing, OnePlus 6 with 64GB internal storage – as mentioned will come with a price tag of $523, which translates to Rs 34,000 approx. The 128GB storage of the OnePlus 6 is expected to be priced $602, which is roughly around Rs 39,000. The high-end model of the OnePlus 6, which is the 256GB internal storage, will cost around $697 which is roughly around RS 45,000.

Earlier reports had also hinted that the upcoming OnePlus flagship phone will be the most expensive device by the company so far. But at the same time, the OnePlus 6 will be definitely cheaper than almost all other flagship phones. It will be cheaper than the Galaxy S9, or the likes of the iPhone 9 and the Pixel 3 that may come to India in the forthcoming months.

In addition, an official back cover of the OnePlus 6 has also surfaced online highlighting the rear panel design details of the device. The leaked case of the phone re-confirms the past rumours. The case shows that the OnePlus 6 will come packed with vertically placed dual cameras, following which will be the LED flash and the fingerprint sensor. The leaked case of the OnePlus 6 doesn’t reveal any further details of the upcoming OnePlus 6.

The report, alongside revealing the price of the phone and the rear panel design also provides a tentative launch timeline of the OnePlus 6. It reveals the OnePlus 6 may launch is a couple of weeks or so, to be specific, most likely by end of April. OnePlus CEO and co-founder Pete Lau earlier confirmed the next OnePlus flagship will launch in Q2 2018. Hence, we can most likely expect the OnePlus 6 to launch in May or early June in India, with May looking like a bigger possibility.
